Gabriel will be 6 months old on Thursday, and he had his 6 month appt. today. He is doing so well, even better than I could have ever imagined he would be doing 6 months ago. Every time his doctor sees him she is just amazed and says other than his size you would never know he was a preemie. He is now 16 lbs 3.2oz, and 26 inches tall!! His NICU doctor told us not to expect him to catch up until close to a year, but he is already in the 29% for weight, and 21% for height~!! I saw another woman at the office who had a 6 week old boy, who was born at 31 weeks and I am reminded yet again of how lucky we are that Gabriel doesn't have any problems so far. I have to make an appt for his eyes to get rechecked, but I don't forsee any problems there. Other than that he has an ultrasound for his head to make sure the fluid on his brain has gone away. I think at around a year, we can take him for EI (early intervention) for speech and other delays but I am not sure if we will need it or not.
I will take a picture of him later and post it...he had a long morning at the doctors and he is taking a much needed nap now.
