I don't sew very often anymore because I don't have a dedicated space and I end up taking over the entire dining room. I really get tired of unpacking everything and packing it back up every night, so I usually sew like crazy for a few weeks and then stop until I get the itch again. I love the idea of repurposing old clothing, so I have been scouring the thrift stores for a new project. Of course, Isabella has to put her stamp of approval on it, or it won't be worn. She can't really understand that we are looking at the fabric, not the actual garment so we don't find much. When we found this large maternity skirt I knew it would make a really cute summer skirt for her, and she approved. I think paired with a tank top and cute sandals this will make a really nice summer outfit. The second skirt I made using a tutorial for a double layer skirt with fabric Isabella picked from JoAnns. I'm not really sure I like the open overskirt. I think next time maybe a closed overskirt with one side ruched would look nicer. I can't wait to find more used clothing to repurpose, that was really fun! Isabella is definitely NOT lacking in the clothing department though so I need to start gifting things or taking orders, lol. Oh, and she was not happy with me when I took the last picture because it was 10pm and I was telling her to go to bed!
