Mini Vacation

We took a mini vacation down to Santa Barbara and back in February and for the most part had a great time.  In retrospect we should have found hotels and made reservations in advance, because everything (and I do mean EVERYTHING) was completely full from Monterey down to Santa Barbara.  So, Friday night we stayed in Salinas and then saturday morning went to the Monterey Bay aquarium, and then the Dennis the Menace park after.  We drove to San Lois Obispo the long way on accident, so we stopped at a few beaches along the way.  We stopped at one beach in particular where a group of elephant seals were hanging out.  Those guys are huge!  They were so close, you could jump down and touch one, although I would never, ever recommend it.  Saturday night we stayed just South of Santa Barbara, so Sunday spent the day there.  Monday spent a little time in Santa Barbara and then drove home.
