We love to read!

I finally realized that the best way to get Ethan to read, is to have books available that he wants to read. Sounds logical but it took me a while to realize that. I kept getting books from the library that I thought he would like to read, but I never really asked him. One day I was reading a blog and the subject was getting kids to read. One thing that was mentioned was that she makes sure to get books her kids like, even if its not something she would have read. So when I asked him, he gave me a list of books and that week he read every day without a fight. Since then I always make sure to get books he requests, and even his teacher has noticed a huge improvement in his fluency. Yesterday we checked out the first two Diary of a Wimpy kid books, and he read them both in one day! I couldn't believe it!


I had to add this picture, he does this every chance he has. I don't think he likes order, because he sure does like to make a mess.
