Gabriel

When Gabriel was born 8 weeks early, I really didn't know what to expect. We were told that it would take him at least a year to start to catch up on size and up to three years to catch up developmentally with babies born full term. This kid has other plans though! We had his first developmental check with the nurse at the rehab center and she said he is doing wonderful, advanced for a preemie (meaning he is on par with full term babies). That made me feel so happy to hear that. I guess I knew he was doing well, but to hear the nurse tell me that he is developing normally just makes me relax and eases my fears. He had his monthly Synagis shots on Tuesday, and he is a whopping 18 lbs 12 oz! Holy cow, I think he will be 20 pounds by the time he is a year, which is fantastic! I am so thankful everyday for him, and how healthy he is, especially compared to what could have been.

Poor little guy, he IS sick right now though. For the last 5 days or so his poor nose has been stuffed. No fever, no cough, just a stuffed nose. He is fine when awake, not overly fussy, but he can't sleep well. Half of his sleeping starts on my back in the carrier, then I put him in the bed and he wakes up screaming because he can't breathe :( I know he is teething, could that cause a stuffy nose?!?

yes, that is a huge symptom of teething. as soon as the tooth pops through it'll be back to normal. he is so cute!!
